# Preloading screen

A “preloading screen” is a visual indicator that appears while a website or application’s content is loading. It’s designed to inform users that the site is in the process of loading and to provide a more engaging experience than simply displaying a blank screen.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store** **->** **Themes**.
2. Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click **Customize**.
3. Click **Theme Settings -> Preloading screen.**
