# Cannot upload Ella theme into Shopify store

### What You May See

When uploading the theme to Shopify, you may see one of the following messages:

***⚠️ File must be a .zip less than 50 MB***

***⚠️ zip does not contain a valid theme: missing template "layout/theme.liquid”***

### Why Does This Happen?

In most cases, these messages appear when the **downloaded package is uploaded** directly to Shopify instead of the actual theme source file.

After purchasing Ella, the download package contains multiple resources, such as:

* Ella Shopify Theme
* Ella HTML Template
* PSD Files, etc,…

Since the package contains additional resources, it cannot be uploaded directly to Shopify.

### How to Upload the Correct File

* **Extract** the **downloaded package**.
* Locate the file named **ella-7.x.x-theme-source.zip** *(x.x represents the latest released version number)*.
* Upload **only this file** to Shopify.
