# Install Theme 🎯

Installing **Ella 7** on your Shopify store is the first step to start customizing your new theme. Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure a smooth setup.

⚠️ **Important:** Installing a new theme does not overwrite your current published theme. However, always keep a backup of your active theme before making changes.

## Step 1: P**reparing Theme Package**

Remember: The package you download from Envato contains:

* Ella Shopify 6.7.6
* **Ella Shopify 7.1.0**
* Ella HTML Template
* PSD file: We only provide PSD file of Ella default homepage

1. Download the package from [themeforest.net](https://1.envato.market/dokaB2) (the package is in zip format).
2. Unzip the package you've just downloaded.
3. Find this file: <mark style="color:red;">**ella-7.1.0-theme-source.zip**</mark> in the folder **Ella Shopify 7.1.0**, then you just need to upload <mark style="color:red;">**ella-7.1.0-theme-source.zip**</mark> file to your Shopify store.

## Step 2: Upload Theme to Shopify

1. Please log in to your Shopify store, click **Online Store** → **Themes**.
2. At **Themes** , click **Import theme**, choose **Upload zip file**.
3. The **Upload Themes** dialog displays. Click **Add file** or drop file to upload to select the .zip file you want to upload → select the file <mark style="color:red;">**ella-7.1.0-theme-source.zip**</mark> file.
4. Click **Upload file**.
5. Wait until the uploading process finishes.&#x20;

## Step 3: Publish Theme

1. After upload, you will see Ella 7 in the **Theme Library**.
2. Click **Publish** to set Ella 7 as your live theme.

⚠️Note: If you are not ready to publish yet, you can keep Ella 7 in the library and preview it first.
